Dr. Chinedu Obi is a board-certified neurologist and fellowship-trained vascular neurologist dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals with neurological conditions. He combines advanced clinical expertise with a thoughtful, individualized approach, ensuring patients and their families feel heard, informed, and supported throughout their care journey.
He began his academic training in Michigan, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and graduating with honors. This nursing foundation continues to shape Dr. Obi’s holistic, team-based approach to patient care. He went on to attend the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, where he again graduated with honors, reflecting a sustained commitment to excellence in medicine.
Dr. Obi completed his neurology residency at the University of Missouri, where he served as Chief Resident, demonstrating both clinical leadership and a strong commitment to patient advocacy. He subsequently completed a Vascular Neurology Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he developed specialized expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of stroke and complex cerebrovascular disorders.
His clinical interests include disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, muscles, autonomic nervous system, and cerebrovascular system. Dr. Obi prioritizes a patient-centered approach grounded in clear communication, shared decision-making, and individualized treatment plans, empowering patients and their families to actively participate in their care while focusing on outcomes that matter most to them.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Obi has delivered numerous professional presentations and participated in impactful research aimed at improving neurological outcomes and advancing patient care.
Dr. Obi is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, and the American Heart Association, and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Omega Phi, and Gold Humanism Honor Societies.
